TRAINING COURSES INFORMATION

Please visit the council calendar (link below) to discover any approved and scheduled council or district training courses, and to register online for those courses. The BSA Adult Training web page is displayed below formore information on the various BSA training courses and programs. Also note that there are several locally developed training courses which may not be described on the BSA site, such as SOS (Scouting Outdoor Skills for Women) and LAST (Leaders Advanced Skills Training) which are offered during the Lafayette MOST weekends (Mega Outdoor Skills Training) along with the BSA courses IOLS, OLSWL, BALOO, and shooting sports leader classes. MOST is offered in the spring and fall, and includes Camp KOOL (Kids Of Outdoor Leaders) with dedicated leadership and special activities for children of adult learners and staff.
LaFayette District also condcuts MEGA course twice each year, which includes most of the Leader Position Specific classes, as needed (Den Leader, Webelos Den Leader, Cubmaster, Pack Committee, Scoutmaster, Merit Badge Counselor, Chartered Orgnaization Representative, Venturing Advisor, Venturing Committee, and others when needed. The District also offers First Aid classes during the annual program year.
Council training includes Climbing and Rappeling leadership classes, shooting sports leadership classes, Leave No Trace, Tread Lightly, ATV operator, and many, many more.
